The blade is made from superior VG-10 San Mai steel that provides superior edge-holding ability while still being able to withstand impact and lateral stresses. To keep the user's fingers from sliding forward onto their keen edge, the Tai Pan comes with a solid steel double quillon guard. The handle is made of deeply checkered Kray-Ex, providing a non-slip grip for superior control.

To carry the Tai Pan knife safely and conveniently, each blade comes complete with a sturdy and versatile Secure-Ex sheath. This durable sheath offers excellent protection for the blade and allows for safe and convenient carry, ensuring the knife is always ready for use.
